Invitationals this week too. Great job!

Hi Armada!
Congratulations on
another great meet against Pflugerville! Sorry I was unable to be there, I got
hit with a pretty bad stomach bug Friday and Saturday. But I'm back and ready
for our last week of practice for the season. This week is where it all pays
off. We have one final meet, one championship meet left. We need all families
and swimmers to come together to help us end the season with a bang! We have so
many swimmers swimming faster than they ever have in their life. Make sure to
get good sleep this week and work on the little things that will make your
races even better and faster. Like streamlining, or less breathing, or faster
turns. We will be tweaking everything this week in order to be prepared for
Divisonals! It is very important that you guys show up this weekend and on
time. We don't want or need to be arranging relays last minute! We are going to
have a lot of fun- I can't wait to see the end product!
Hope everyone can
make it to team awards this Wednesday at the Recreation Center. It's a good
time to look back and reflect on the swim season and see how far you have
grown. I am so proud to be a part of this team, and even more proud of all you
swimmers. Thank you to the parents for your constant support and help
volunteering numerous hours and for free. We would not be a team without you!
I want to take time
to thank my amazing coaches. Gina, Andi, Brynn, Anna, Bethany, and Don- you
mean the world to me and I, and the Armada, are so lucky to have you as our
coaches. Thank you for your dedication, humor, and knowledge. We would not as
as elite of a team if it were not for the patience, and great skills that you
have blessed the Armada team with. Thank you so much!
And lastly, thank
you to the amazing board members. You spend many hours not just in the summer,
but year round to make the Armada a team that other teams are envious of-
swimmers, coaches and parents alike. You are the most caring and approachable
group of parents I've ever worked with, and I am truly blessed to have your
help and dedication in my life. I know the other coaches feel the
same.
Have a wonderful
last week of swimming, and best of luck at Divisonals and Invitationals!
Thank you for
another amazing season!
GO ARMADA!!

Make your plans to
attend the annual Wells Branch Armada Awards Night. The big event will be held
at the Wells Branch Recreation Center on Shoreline Drive from 7-9 pm on Wed.,
July 14.
Each hard-working
swimmer on the team as earned a special award for being a part of the 2010 WBA
Swim Team. Each swimmer will be recognized by name and brought up to the front
of the room to receive their award.
We will award
"high-point" awards for the top three point-earners in each age group and each
gender. Swimmers who have set team records will receive an award. Swimmers with
perfect attendance at every dual swim meet will receive an award. In addition,
the coaches have a number of other awards planned for hard-working
swimmers.
Swimathon prizes
will also be awarded.
There will be
refreshments and a DVD presentation of the season.
There are many
swimmers and we want each swimmer to be recognized. We ask that you talk to
your swimmers ahead of time about the importance of sitting and listening
during the ceremony. It does take some time to get through all the awards but
each award is important.

Concessions: We are asking for donations from the 6 and under
and 7-8 age groups this week. Other age groups are welcome to donate
also.
Fresh fruit -
cut up and packaged - iis our biggest need. For example: package grapes in
snack sized ziplocks or cut-up watermelon in plastic cups covered with plastic
wrap. We need alot of fruit.
If you are
willing to cut-up and package fruit purchased by WBA the night before please
contact Trish
Koester.
Baked good
such as cookies, cupcakes, muffins etc are also a good choice. Please stay away
from chocolate because it melts quickly.
Parking: There will be police and parking attendants directing
traffic. Please stagger your arrival according to the schedule listed at left
so we don't have a horrible traffic jam.
If you would
like to drop your chairs and heavy items at the pool the night before, you can
do so from 8:30 to 9 p.m. You MAY NOT bring anything before 8:30
p.m. |
