What a great meet
we had with Balcones Country Club. The cloud cover we had for most of the meet
made it very comfortable, and the meet itself was very competitives. Thanks to
all of you parents and swimmers for taking part.
This Saturday we
will be back home to host the Steiner Ranch B team, the following Tuesday will
be our Swim-a-thon, and then the Saturday after that we will be hosting
Anderson Mill. So it will be a busy couple of weeks for us at the pool!
The Swim-a-thon and
Silent Auction is Tuesday, June 22, and is a great time. Free food and drinks
for everyone, music, door prizes, raffles, and great items in the Silent
Auction. Look for the envelope in your folder, and I look forward to seeing
everyone there.
Stroke clinics
started last week. They are $10 for 30 minutes, and the kids will receive
focused instruction on strokes, turns, and dives. Sign up in the book at the
pool.
You can contact me
with questions at board@wbarmada.org.
For more team information, check our website at www.wbarmada.org. |
Hi Armada Parents
and Swimmers!
Another great week,
and meet under our belt. I appreciate those that turned in their MAFs on time,
and we will work to make sure we have the best entries as possible for the next
meet. Please continue to be flexible as the coaches make sure we put the team
in the events that will be great for you personally, and collectively as a
team. Like I said before, you might swim something you don't really like, and
surprise yourself!
On the meet
Saturday we had way too many people not show up without notice, or leave early
without reason. We understand things come up, but PLEASE don't commit to coming
and then back out. You are not making it hard for just the coaches, but for
your relay, and for the computer people. Plus, we want you there! The coaches
really do miss you when you are gone :)
I'm so proud of the
hard work people have been putting in at practices. Bring water to practice and
meets to hydrate yourself, and keep up the good work- it will pay off!
Don't forget to get
donors for the Swim A Thon coming up! This is a night that you do not want to
miss! There will be plenty of food, fun and prizes!
See ya at the
pool! Coach Elisa coach@wbarmada.org |

Parking
We ask that
Armada Parents park in the parking lot across the street. The Pool parking
lot is restricted on meet days to allow the visiting team access. If you have
handicapped tags, please let the parking attendants know. Please respect the
"no parking" signs where posted.
Meet Set-up Friday, June 18 at 8:30 pm For a home meet, we
must move all tables and chairs and put out ready benches, ropes and the
announcer tables. If you signed up as part of the setup team for your volunteer
assignment please be at the pool then. The morning of the meet, we need help
setting up pop-up tents around the pool. We appreciate all the help we can get
putting these tents up and taking them down at the end of the day.
Clean Up
We ask
everyone to clean up the pit and pool areas before they leave. We are having
too many items in the lost/found. |
|
|
The Meet Attendance
Form for the home meet hosting Anderson Mill is due Friday, June 18.
Please put in the "completed" folder in the MAF Box.
Do not return to your own folder.
EVERY swimmer should turn these forms in by the deadline. Mark
the box indicating if you will swim or not.
We want all
swimmers who are able to swim the length of the pool unassisted to participate
in all meets. Swim Meets are an important part of being on the WBA. (We
understand if you are out-of-town or unable to participate due to religious
reasons.) We are a team - we need you!
This is a home meet
but the arrival time will be between 5:45 and 6 am. We will determine that
after seeing how large their team is.

swimmer's file box in a folder marked Swim-A-Thon. The prizes will be awarded
at the WBA Awards Ceremony on Wednesday, July 14th.
